Frottage Workshop
with Barbara Drucker,
Co-director, FORM Academy
Professor Emerita, Department of Art
UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture
It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Blue Moon Art Studio will be hosting a FROTTAGE workshop on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10am-1pm. Cost, $45
Pre-Holiday Offer, Reserve space by October 31st and Save $20 . Your cost = $25
If you haven’t had the opportunity of creating art with Barbara Drucker, you are in for a treat. With decades of teaching experience at UCLA, she is knowledgeable and inspiring and supports and encourages each student’s quest for authenticity and expression.
“Frottage, (French: “rubbing”), in visual arts, technique of obtaining an impression of the surface texture of a material, such as wood, by placing a piece of paper over it and rubbing it with a soft pencil or crayon, as for taking brass rubbings; the name is also applied to the impression so obtained. “ Frottage is a fun and creative process that allows artists of all levels to enjoy. No experience necessary.
I recommend watching the following video sharing Max Ernst’s words and his discovery of frottage. If you’ve ever felt pause in front of a white canvas, this is reassuring.
